A Saudi delegation in Sanaa is holding talks with the leaders of the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - about reaching a new ceasefire agreement, which may be permanent.
No official confirmation has been issued from the Saudi side so far, but Houthi-affiliated media published pictures of the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, with Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the so-called Supreme Political Council affiliated with the Houthis.
Earlier Sunday, a leaked photo of the Houthi leader, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, showed him shaking hands with a Saudi official, but his face did not appear clearly.
None of the aforementioned officials commented on this meeting, but reports were received from various sources that an agreement could be signed before the end of this month.
Although the terms of such a deal have not been made public, they are said to include a commitment to pay public servants and reopen all ports and airports under Houthi control.
